A liquid level sensing device and a liquid level detection method, the device comprising a plurality of liquid level measuring units (202, 204, 206, 208) connected sequentially and forming a measurement circuit for achieving multi-stage measurement of the liquid level to be measured, wherein each of liquid level measuring units (202, 204, 206, 208) comprises a resistor and a switch connected to each other in parallel, and resistance values of the resistors in the plurality of liquid level measuring units (202, 204, 206, 208) are different from one another such that total resistance value of the total resistor of the liquid level sensing device is different when measuring by the different liquid level measuring unit (202, 204, 206, 208). The device and method can overcome the shortcomings in the prior art such as poor measurement accuracy, low reliability and high maintenance difficulty, etc., and achieve the beneficial effects of good measurement accuracy, high reliability and small maintenance difficulty.
