The pushcart (1) has multiple casters installed on the bottom surface of a loading platform (10). At least one of the multiple casters is a universal caster (30) capable of swiveling with respect to the loading platform (10) so as to change the traveling direction of the pushcart (1). The universal caster (30) is attached to an attachment surface (45) disposed between a traveling surface (F), on which a wheel of the universal caster (30) travels, and the bottom surface of the loading platform (10). The wheel of the universal caster (30) is lifted from the traveling surface (F) by a lifting mechanism (60). When the wheel is lifted from the traveling surface (F) by the lifting mechanism (60), the attachment surface (45) is changed by a posture changing mechanism (42) from a parallel position parallel to the bottom surface of the loading platform (10) to a tilted position tilted with respect to the loading platform (10). The tilted position of the attachment surface (45) is retained by a retaining mechanism (46, 52) and is released by a releasing mechanism (18).
