The present invention belongs to the field of communications, and in particular relates to a method and system for pushing on the basis of a vehicle driving location and a push information serial number. The present invention may increase the probability that the pushed information is needed by a user, and may avoid repetitive pushing. The method comprises: a vehicle-mounted device locating said vehicle-mounted device to obtain location information of the vehicle-mounted device; sending an information push request message to a server, said message carrying the location information of the vehicle-mounted device and the largest serial number which was previously received and which corresponds to the location information of the vehicle-mounted device; the server, according to the location information of the vehicle-mounted device and the largest serial number corresponding to the location information, querying a preset push information library to obtain push information which corresponds to the location of the vehicle-mounted device and which is greater than said largest serial number; the server transmitting to the vehicle-mounted device the push information which corresponds to the location of the vehicle-mounted device and which is greater than the largest serial number; the vehicle-mounted device receiving the push information sent by the server and playing back said push information.
