Provided are a method and system for extracting television broadcast subtitles. The method comprises the following steps: detecting a broadcast file viewed by a user; inspecting the file; and if the file does not pass the inspection, capturing subtitles of the file and saving same. The technical solution provided in the present invention has the advantage of improved user experience.
