The disclosed embodiments include methods, systems, articles of manufacture, and UAVs configured to track a target. The techniques described in the disclosed embodiments may be used to track the position of a target based on a combination of image data of the target and a location of the target. The disclosed embodiments determine a distance between a tracker and the target, and a physical dimension associated with the target based on two-dimensional pixel data locations from image data of the target and the distance. The disclosed embodiments then determine three-dimensional location coordinate data of the target based on the physical dimension and at least one of the two-dimensional pixel coordinate data and the distance. As a result, the disclosed embodiments provide enhanced accuracy, usability, and robustness in their ability to track a movement of a target under various operation conditions.
