The present invention belongs to the field of computers. Provided are a method for collecting user usage data of automatic saving technology, and a saving system. The method comprises: recording a time threshold of not receiving an operation instruction when a computer is used; when one operation instruction is received, starting timing; determining whether a period from the time of receiving the last operation instruction to the current time exceeds the time threshold; if not, maintaining the same state; and if so, sending a saving instruction to a currently opened process, and sending technology usage data to a data collection end pre-set by a manufacturer. In the present invention, by means of pre-setting a time threshold of not receiving an operation instruction when a computer is used, when there is no operation within the time threshold, a saving instruction is automatically sent, so as to also ensure that a document cannot be lost without manual intervention, thereby making a computer more user-friendly. Moreover, it is also convenient for a manufacturer to effectively collect usage conditions of the relevant technology in time.
