The present invention relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a right ownership prompting method for infrequently used route pushing technology and a server, capable of pushing related information on the basis of the infrequently used route of the user, thereby increasing the probability that the user may need the pushed information, and improving the user experience. The method comprises: a server collects statistics about journeys of a user within a preset period on the basis of a navigation service, and obtains an infrequently used route of the user within the preset period, wherein the infrequently used route is a route which is used as the route of a journey for less times than a preset threshold; the server obtains related push information of addresses along the infrequently used route according to the infrequently used route; the server sends the related push information of the addresses along the infrequently used route to an in-vehicle terminal corresponding to the user, and pushes patent information to the user.
