Provided are a p-phenylenediamine chemical grafting modified ammonium polyphosphate derivative and a preparation method therefor. The method comprises: using anhydrous ethanol as a solvent, dissolving p-phenylenediamine (PPDA) and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) in the solvent, performing oil-bath heating in a nitrogen atmosphere to prepare a p-phenylenediamine chemical grafting modified ammonium polyphosphate derivative (PAPP) by means of subsequent processing. The solubility of the provided ammonium polyphosphate derivative is reduced by 0.52g/100mL, weight loss during thermal decomposition at 340ºC-460ºC is obviously slowed down, compatibility with substrate EVA is also greatly improved, the breaking elongation of a composite material formed by mixing with the EVA is increased by 30%, the UL-94 level is changed from V-1 to V-0, and an oxygen index is increased from 26.1% to 28.2%.
