The present invention relates to a steam-injection device for heating a foodstuff, such as a pasta meal or soup, by steam-injection, comprising: a liquid reservoir, a plastic steam pipe, a passage duct extending between the liquid reservoir and the steam pipe, a heating unit for heating the liquid in the reservoir and/or the passage duct, and a liquid pump for pumping the liquid from the liquid reservoir in the direction of the steam pipe, in which the steam pipe is detachably connectable to an end of the passage duct which is turned away from the liquid reservoir and to a a detachable plastic steam pipe for coupling to a steam-injection device and method for heating a foodstuff using steam-injection.
