A device for detecting water leakage of a valve tower of a high-pressure converter valve. The device is located at the bottom of the valve tower of the converter valve, and comprises a leakage gathering box (1), a float (5), a connection rod (6), a rotation shaft (8), frames (10, 13), optical blocking mechanisms (11, 14), and an optical signal detection mechanism. The float (5) is disposed in the leakage gathering box (1), and is connected to the rotation shaft (8) by means of the connection rod (6). The optical blocking mechanisms (11, 14), the optical signal detection mechanism and the rotation shaft (8) are located in a same frame (10, 13), and the float (5) floats up to drive, by means of the connection rod (6) and the rotation shaft (8), the optical blocking mechanisms (11, 14) and the optical signal detection mechanism to relatively move. Compared with the existing leakage detection technology using buoyancy, a water path is separated from an optical path in the device, and the device has a simple structure, low cost and high reliability.
