An automatic fall protection device for elderly people, the device comprising an inflatable waist band (2), a connection tube (3), a valve (4), a pull string (5), an air container (7), and a gravity sensor (8). The connection tube (3) is connected to the inflatable waist band (2). The pull string (5) is connected to the valve (4). The valve (4) is connected to the connection tube (3) and the air container (7). The gravity sensor (8) is disposed on the surface of the air container (7). The gravity sensor (8) is used to detect the acceleration of the automatic fall protection device for elderly people. A controller (70) is disposed within the air container (7). The pull string (5) is used to pull the valve (4) to drive the air in the air container (7) to flow into the inflatable waist band (2). The controller (70) is electrically connected to the valve (4) and the gravity sensor (8), and is used to control the valve (4) to open when the acceleration of the automatic fall protection device for elderly people is equal to the gravitational acceleration, such that the air in the air container (7) flows into the inflatable waist band (2). By inflating the inflatable waist band (2) with the air container (7), the present invention reduces an impact force of a fall on a user, thus preventing the user from being injured, and facilitating protection for an accidental fall.
