The present invention relates to the field of biodegradable materials, and provides a method for synthesizing a resin for a degradable membrane material with a high molecular weight and high barrier property. According to the present invention, 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC), adipic acid (AA) and 1,4-butanediol (BDO) are used as monomers for copolymerization by using a half-esterification half-interesterification synthetic route. A small amount of a polycarboxylic or polyhydroxy organic compound, such as a polyacid and a polylol, is added as a chain extender. Particularly, a self-made novel catalyst is used, and process conditions are controlled to synthesize polybutylene adipate/naphthalate (PBAN) with a high molecular weight and high barrier property. The present invention is complete in reaction, short in reaction time, and low in vacuum requirement. The degradable material synthesized according to the present invention has characteristics of good barrier property, excellent mechanical property, good hydrolysis resistance and being degradable, is widely applicable to packaging films, agricultural plastic films, disposable articles such as cups, bottles, dishes, and relates to the fields of packaging, agriculture, articles for daily use, medical products and so on.
