The invention is a Random Number Generator (1) comprising a photon source (2), one or more photon detectors (31 ) configured to detect at least one photon belonging to a flow of detected photons (λ) generated by the photon source (2), electronic sampling means (4) operatively associated with the photon detectors (31) and configured to implement a logic method for the extraction of a binary sequence based on the arrival time of each one of the detected photons (λ). In the Random Number Generator (1) the photon source (2) and the photon detectors (31 ) are adjacent to one another and integrated in a single semiconductor substrate (5).
