The present invention addresses the problem of providing an effective means for preventing and/or treating fulminant acute pneumonia. Provided are: a drug or pharmaceutical composition to be used to prevent and/or treat fulminant acute pneumonia, the drug or pharmaceutical composition including a CD69 antagonist, e.g., an antibody (anti-CD69 antibody) that specifically recognizes CD69; an intra-alveolar neutrophil aggregation inhibitor that includes a CD69 antagonist, e.g., an antibody (anti-CD69 antibody) that specifically recognizes CD69; a pulmonary neutrophil migration inhibitor that includes a CD69 antagonist, e.g., an antibody (anti-CD69 antibody) that specifically recognizes CD69; and a method for preventing and/or treating fulminant acute pneumonia, the method including the administration of a CD69 antagonist, for example, an antibody (anti-CD69 antibody) that specifically recognizes CD69.
