A waterless humidifying air conditioner comprising: a refrigerant circuit, which comprises a compressor (3), an indoor heat exchanger (13), a throttling apparatus (7), and an outdoor heat exchanger (2), the compressor (3) being connected respectively to the indoor heat exchanger (13) and to the outdoor heat exchanger (2) via a directional valve (4); a humidifying module (22) and a humidifying fan (10) for supplying air to the humidifying module (22), the humidifying module (22) being provided with an air inlet, a hygroscopic material chamber (23), and an air outlet connected in series, and a hygroscopic material (12) being filled in the hygroscopic material chamber (23). The air outlet is connected to an indoor unit (5) via a humidifying pipe (8). A heating pipe (11) is connected in parallel between an outlet pipe and an inlet pipe of the compressor (3). The heating pipe (11) is inserted into the hygroscopic material (12) and used for selectively heating the hygroscopic material (12). Also disclosed is a humidifying method.
