The present invention relates to a simulation apparatus for predicting a temperature at a phase transition of a superconducting coil, and a method therefor. The simulation apparatus for predicting the temperature at the phase transition of a superconducting coil comprises: an initial value setting unit for performing a node setting of dividing a superconducting coil into unit nodes, setting an initial resistance and an initial temperature for each node, and setting an arbitrary node as a quench generating node; a temperature change calculation unit for calculating a temperature change at all of the nodes by using a heat transfer amount for a predetermined time interval from the quench generating node to adjacent nodes and Joule heat due to resistance generation; a resistance calculation unit for deriving a specific resistance of copper for a temperature of each node and summing up the resistances of all of the nodes to derive a resistance value of the entire superconducting coil; a current calculation unit for inputting a voltage value of both ends of the superconducting coil, predicting a current at a next time interval by using the inductance and specific resistance of copper according to the temperature of each node, and outputting the current to the temperature change calculation unit; and a superconducting coil temperature evaluation unit for calculating a maximum temperature of the superconducting coil and comparing the maximum temperature with a preset temperature value to determine whether or not to take protective measures.
