An application method for an intelligent vehicle breakdown warning sign, comprising: an intelligent warning sign receives, at a vehicle breakdown site, warning information and/or alarm information from an intelligent terminal by means of an intelligent controller; send the warning information and/or alarm information to a cloud platform; the cloud platform publishes an accident notification according to the warning information and/or alarm information, and/or directly publishes the warning information and/or alarm information to other vehicles and related intelligent traffic signs within a predetermined distance or a particular region in real time. The method makes a vehicle breakdown warning sign intelligent, and improves the traffic management informationization level.
