The present invention relates to a method for controlling traffic-based dynamic subcarrier allocation in an OFDM wireless communication system and an apparatus therefor, the method comprising: detecting a traffic buffer status for a communication service port between a COT device and an RT device; determining an operation mode for dynamic subcarrier allocation, on the basis of the traffic buffer status; when the devices are operated in a carrier switching mode, performing standby processing during a switching standby time; and controlling the size of a subcarrier group according to a predetermined subcarrier allocation amount.
