Provided are a coordination device for use in a R&D process for a complex electromechanical product and a coordination method thereof. The method comprises: creating an initial WBS in a PM system; after reception of a task by a task leader of the initial WBS, producing, according to a work-breakdown structure element, a corresponding deliverable, and submitting the produced deliverable to a PDM system; associating, in the PM system, corresponding deliverables in the PDM system, and if the deliverable is a design specification, initiating a specification review and approval procedure; after respective stakeholders have reviewed and approved the specification, causing the PM system to automatically generate a task serving as a subtask of the specification; after reception of the task by a subtask leader, designing a deliverable corresponding to the subtask, and submitting the same to the PDM system; and performing, in the PM system, association of the deliverable with the corresponding task. The invention realizes subdivision and multi-level breakdown of a WBS, tracking of a project, and control of a plan.
