A gesture recognition method and device for a virtual reality apparatus, and a virtual reality apparatus. The gesture recognition method comprises: controlling each camera to capture a current gesture image of a current user (S110); splicing each current gesture image to obtain a current spliced image (S120); and performing gesture recognition according to the current spliced image (S130). The gesture recognition method can enlarge photographing angles of cameras; images obtained by cameras (11, 12) at different positions are spliced by a splicing module (320) to obtain a spliced image with the photographing angle exceeding a viewing angle of a single camera, and thus, the sense of immersion of the user is improved when using a virtual reality apparatus.
