A safety warning method and system based on a building display screen and a robot. When natural gas leakage occurs in a resident building in a city, a monitoring center (101) computes a straight-line distance between the position of a building in the city where each registered building display screen (102) is located and the position of the resident building; when it is determined that a target building display screen (102) having a straight-line distance with the position of the resident building being smaller than a specified threshold exists and the target building display screen (102) is in a working state, the monitoring center (101) sends the natural gas leakage warning information comprising the position information and a building name of the residential building in which the natural gas leakage occurs, to the target building display screen (102) and a server (200) through the internet of things; and the target building display screen (102) outputs the natural gas leakage warning information. In this way, the natural gas leakage occurring in a resident building can be known by the outside world in time, so as to avoid a serious safety accident; and the target robot is motivated to participate in the natural gas leakage warning.
