A smart helmet fall detection method and a smart helmet (100). The smart helmet (100) comprises a three-axis acceleration sensor (10) and a controller (20). According to the smart helmet fall detection method and the smart helmet (100), the acceleration is measured by the three-axis acceleration sensor (10) mounted on the smart helmet (100), whether a riding fall event occurs is determined by analyzing the change of the acceleration, an alarm is given on the basis of the fall event, so as to resolve, in a targeted manner, a fall detection and call for help problem during a riding process.
