Provided are a food composition for improving an intestinal flora balance and an intestinal flora balance improving agent, each of which contains a euglena-derived substance as an active ingredient. The present invention can be solved by a food composition for improving an intestinal flora balance and an intestinal flora balance improving agent, each of which contains a euglena-derived substance as an active ingredient and can be used for decreasing a ratio determined by dividing an occupancy of a bacterium classified into the phylum Firmicutes in an intestinal flora by an occupancy of a bacterium classified into the phylum Bacteroidetes in the intestinal flora (i.e., a F/B ratio).
