Provided are a method and apparatus for processing a home page recommendation, a server and a storage medium, relating to the field of the internet. The method comprises: receiving a home page recommendation request, wherein the home page recommendation request comprises a room identifier of a recommended live broadcast room; determining whether the quantity of room identifiers in a first recommendation list reaches a pre-set quantity; and if the quantity of room identifiers in the first recommendation list reaches the pre-set quantity, storing the room identifier in the home page recommendation request in a second recommendation list. In this solution, a second recommendation list is set. Where the quantity of room identifiers in a first recommendation list reaches a pre-set quantity, a room identifier in a home page recommendation request is stored in the second recommendation list, thus improving the limitation to the quantity of recommendable live broadcast rooms.
