A hydrophobic palladium/metal organic frame material, which is a solid catalyst material obtained by using a porous metal organic frame as a carrier, introducing elemental palladium by means of an imersion-reduction method, and then performing polydimethylsiloxane coating layer processing. A method which uses the hydrophobic palladium/metal organic frame material to selectively catalyze hexose to prepare 2, 5-dimethylfuran comprises: dissolving hexose into an alcohol; using the hydrophobic palladium/metal organic frame material as a catalyst and polymethylhydrosiloxane as a hydrogen donor, reacting at 70–130°C for 0.25–12 hours under the action of an acidic additive; the concentration of the hexose in the alcohol is 0.2–10 wt%, and the total amount of Pd contained in the hydrophobic palladium/metal organic frame material relative to hexose is 0.1–5 mol%. The hydrophobic palladium/metal organic frame material has a stable structure, and under the same conditions, has a catalyzing efficiency which is significantly higher than that of commercially available palladium on carbon and common palladium/metal organic frame materials.
