A catalogue update method and apparatus. The method comprises: determining a catalogue update policy to which a current system is adapted (S301); acquiring the number of CAs accessing a target data address and the position of the CAs (S302); and according to the catalogue update policy and the number of the CAs and the position of the CAs, updating a first pre-set catalogue to be a second catalogue, the second catalogue comprising at least one catalogue structure (S303). In the method, the first pre-set catalogue is updated according to different catalogue update policies, facilitating improving the flexibility of the catalogue structure.
