The invention relates to a fuel consumption detecting system, in particular to a fishing boat fuel consumption monitoring system and a monitoring method based on wireless communication. The fuel consumption detecting system comprises a fuel consumption measuring device, a rotational speed collecting device, a ship mounted terminal, a shore-based system and a user monitoring terminal. The fuel consumption measuring device and the rotational speed collecting device are both connected to the ship mounted terminal through RS485, the ship mounted terminal is connected to the shore-based system through a wireless network, and the user monitoring terminal is connected to the user monitoring terminal through a wired network and/or a wireless network. By using wireless network technology, the fishing boat fuel consumption monitoring system and the monitoring method based on wireless communication overcome the problems of wide port area, complicated environment, and difficulty in wiring, and realize the communication function between the monitoring center and the fishing boat, so as to let the fishermen fully grasp the specific situation of fuel consumption of the fishing boat every time they leave the port. By comparing the fuel consumption of the same type of ship and the characteristics of operation, it is found the potential of energy saving for fishing boats and the problem of inconvenient management of fishing boats is solved at the same time.
