The invention provides a water absorption core for sanitation supplies with good water diffusivity and high absorptivity, and preparation method thereof. The water absorption core comprises a top layer, a middle layer and a bottom layer which are arranged in sequence,wherein a SAP and wood pulp mixed layer is arranged between the top layer and the middle layer, a SAP layer is arranged between the middle layer and the bottom layer, the top layer and the bottom layer are made of non-woven fabric or air-laid paper, and the middle layer is made of non-woven fabric or fluffy cotton. Water diffusivity is improved by the SAP and wood pulp mixed layer arranged between the top layer and the middle layer, the wood pulp can quickly diffuse water, the diffused water is absorbed by SAP, and the absorption is quick, and the SAP utilization rate is high. SAP layers with different thicknesses are arranged at the front and back of the middle layer respectively, and the water absorption core can absorb water layer by layer so as to avoid all SAP absorbing too much water locally or in one layer. The preparation method comprises hot pressing to thermally adhere the middle layer and the wood pulp powder, preventing the wood pulp powder from displacement. The press roller involoved in the preparation method is provided with net-shaped protrusions, which can press multiple net-shaped spaces between the bottom layer and the middle layer and between the top layer and the middle layer, limiting the movement of the SAP.
