The present invention relates to a smart home based indoor environment control mode recommending device and a method thereof. The smart home based indoor environment control mode recommending device comprises: a sensor data managing unit; a home information managing unit; a mode managing unit; and a service recommending unit. When sensor data, which is collected by sensors in a home through a gateway device connected to a smart home, is received, the sensor data managing unit stores and manages the received sensor data in a sensor data database. The home information managing unit receives home information for member information and environment information in a corresponding space through a user terminal; and stores and manages the home information in a home data database. The mode managing unit learns a pattern by analyzing the sensor data received through the gateway device, and the home information received through the user terminal; configures an indoor environment control mode which corresponds to the corresponding space based on a learned resu and stores and manages the same in a mode data database. When a specific event is generated from the home information received through the user terminal, the service recommending unit learns the pattern by analyzing the sensor data and received through the gateway device, and the home information; extracts mode data corresponding to the learned pattern from the mode data database; and provides recommendation mode information to the user terminal. The smart home based indoor environment control mode recommending device comprises: the service recommending unit which provides the recommendation mode information extracted from the data database to the user terminal. The present invention increases completeness of a recommendation service.
