Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for providing a social care service based on an IoT platform. The method for providing a social care service in a smart mirror system equipped with an IOT platform according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a step of registering user information in a web service server; a step of recognizing a user corresponding to the user information; and a step of providing at least one of health information, a message, and customized advertisement content corresponding to the user to the user, based on the user information. According to embodiments of the present invention, users at remote places can exchange various information such as photographs, health information, and messages by connecting virtual objects on the Internet as well as real objects through an IOT platform.
