MULTI-PHASE POWER SUPPLY WITH SINGLE COMPARATOR

The present invention provides a multi-phase power supply with a single comparator which can be applied to a power supply of a power amplifier. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multi-phase power supply comprises at least a first and a second converter having different operating phases. Each converter comprises: a multi-phase converter to convert input power into driving power of a power amplifier in accordance with a corresponding duty control signal among a plurality of duty control signals; a detection unit to transfer the driving power of the multi-phase converter to the power amplifier, and detect a voltage by the driving power to provide a detection voltage; and a duty control unit to sequentially compare an envelope signal of an input signal inputted into the power amplifier and a plurality of sawtooth wave signals having phases different from an error voltage from the detection voltage to generate the plurality of duty control signals to supply the plurality of duty control signals to the multi-phase converter. The duty control unit uses a single comparator to sequentially compare the error voltage and the plurality of sawtooth wave signals.
