A server-based nuclear hangar operating system can be used to monitor structures, systems, components, and personnel within containment buildings of nuclear power plants. The disclosed and claimed concepts generally relate to methods of using short range wireless communications (NFC) on mobile client devices with the dynamic capabilities of a logic-based computerization procedure system (CPS). The client allows the execution of the procedure remotely in the field while monitoring the real-time current status and operation of systems, components and sensors of large facilities such as nuclear power plants. The system consists of client and server applications that provide real-time monitoring of procedural compliance and location maintenance, facility clearance information, and work order management (including operator procedure compliance tracking) and provide additional functionality for operator input . The client portion of the system is designed to be wireless and to be introduced into the field, which will include areas such as radiation and hazardous areas where it may be impractical to retrieve completed paperwork. The client has the ability to use NFC for physical component identification to enable clearance verification.
