Provided is an isolator for attenuating heat and vibration between a heat shielding membrane and a heat source. The isolator includes a housing and a washer. The housing surrounds the central opening and extends axially from the first end portion to the second end portion and includes a middle portion between the first end portion and the second end portion. The housing has a serpentine shape. A first end portion and an intermediate portion of the housing fixes a washer between a first end portion and an intermediate portion, and a second end portion and an intermediate portion of the housing are provided between the second end portion and the middle portion, . The washer includes a plurality of through openings between the outer periphery and the central opening to improve vibration damping and to minimize heat transfer from the heat source to the heat shielding membrane. The isolator optionally includes a collar member disposed along a central opening of the washer to facilitate mounting the isolator to a heat source.
