The present invention relates to a steel coating material composition with excellent weatherability and a protection coating method of a steel structure using the same. The steel coating material composition of the present invention comprises 2 to 50 wt% of a performance improving material and 50 to 98 wt% of a performance improving admixture. The performance improving admixture includes: 45 to 99 wt% of an epoxy resin; 0.1 to 25 wt% of an acryl-urethane copolymer; 0.1 to 25 wt% of an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer; 0.01 to 15 wt% of an ethylene-ethylacrylate copolymer; 0.01 to 10 wt% of melamine; 0.01 to 10 wt% of carboxymethyl cellulose; 0.01 to 10 wt% of propylethyltrimethoxysilane; and 0.01 to 10 wt% of sorbitan monooleate ester based on the weight of the performance improving admixture. The steel coating material composition with excellent tensile strength, elongation and durability according to the present invention can prevent a coating from being easily peeled off from a base surface or prevent the coating from being easily cracked on a coated surface by having excellent adhesive force with the steel structure. Further, the steel coating material composition according to the present invention not only improves durability by having excellent bending resistance and impact resistance, but also can enhance durability of the steel structure by blocking the steel structure from corrosion, ultraviolet rays, and other deterioration factors.
