The present invention relates to a product inventory management system in a distribution network comprising a manufacturer for manufacturing a product, an agency for distributing a product manufactured by the manufacturer, and a store for receiving the product from the agency and selling the product to consumers. The product inventory management system comprises: an input unit which receives input of distribution-related data including a product sale status in the store, product inventory in the store, and the product inventory in the agency; a control unit which manages product inventory by using the distribution-related data input from the input unit and calculates an optimal inventory quantity in each store by using event data including weather, politics, and economy based on a product sale status and product inventory history in the distribution-related data accumulated for a certain period or longer; a display unit which displays a product inventory management state processed by the control unit; and a communications interface unit which communications with an external terminal through wired and wireless communications networks. According to the present invention, the product inventory management system has effects of increasing consumers satisfaction by timely supplying a product needed by consumers and maximizing sales of the manufacturer supplying the product.
