TWC CONTROL METHOD FOR IMPROVING TWC PERFORMANCE

The present invention relates to a control method for improving the performance of a three-way catalyst (TWC) including a bypass valve allowing exhaust gas of air and fuel mixed gas combusted in a combustion chamber to be discharged and allowing the exhaust gas to bypass the TWC. The control method for improving the performance of a three-way catalyst includes: a step of determining whether a fuel cut condition of an injector injecting a fuel into the combustion chamber is satisfied, and blocking the discharge of fuel from the injector; a step of calculating a delay time from the first time when the fuel cut is performed to the second time when the bypass valve is operated so that exhaust gas bypasses the TWC; a step of allowing the exhaust gas to bypass the TWC by operating the bypass valve at the second time; a step of determining whether a fuel injection condition of the injector is satisfied and re-injecting fuel from the injector; and a step of operating the bypass valve so that the exhaust gas passes through the TWC when the fuel is re-injected from the injector.
