According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for operating a multi-mode transmitter comprises: a step of determining whether or not conversion of a wireless power transmitting mode is necessary during wireless charging depending on a first mode; a step of storing a first mode voltage value which is a voltage value of first mode voltage, and decreasing the first mode voltage to minimal first mode voltage in a state of normalizing charging depending on a first mode when the conversion of the wireless power transmitting mode is necessary; a step of determining a second mode voltage value which is a voltage value of second mode voltage in a state of normalizing charging depending on a second mode by performing wireless charging depending on the second mode; a step of determining the final wireless power transmitting mode by comparing a result, which is calculated based on the first mode voltage value and the second mode voltage value, with threshold voltage; and a step of performing the wireless charging depending on the final wireless power transmitting mode.
