The present invention relates to a composition for improving elasticity and reducing wrinkles of the skin, comprising a Rhodiola rosea root extract treated by glycosyl hydrolase as an active ingredient. The composition for improving elasticity and reducing wrinkles of the skin of the present invention prevents the occurrence of wrinkles of the skin through an antioxidative effect, an effect of inhibiting MMP-1 protein expression, and a promoting effect of the generation of type I procollagen; and reduces the wrinkles of the damaged skin and improves skin elasticity, thereby showing remarkable effects on skin elasticity improvement and wrinkle reduction.
