Disclosed are a method to generate a stereoscopic image of a visible light image and a non-visible light image, capable of generating a stereoscopic image with a visual improvement effect; and an apparatus thereof. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the method comprises: a step of acquiring first and second images from a visible light camera and a non-visible light camera; a step of calculating first disparity information, which is disparity information between the first and second images; a step of applying a first weight to the first image, applying a second weight different from the first weight to the second image, and fusing the first image to which the first weight is applied and the second image to which the second weight is applied to generate a fused image; a step of calculating second disparity information, which is disparity information between any one of the first and second images and the fused image; a step of comparing the amounts of information of the first and second disparity information to select the disparity information with the greater amount of information; and a step of including the selected disparity information to the fused image to generate the stereoscopic image.
