The present invention relates to a chemically soluble thermosetting resin composition for recycling of fiber-reinforced composites, and to a method of dissolving the same. The thermosetting resin composition comprises: an epoxy resin; a multivalent glycidyl ester compound; an additive in which at least one of terminals of the main chain has a hydroxyl group; and an acid anhydride curing agent. Since the thermosetting resin composition of the present invention exhibits excellent chemical solubility in basic solutions, and has a high glass transition temperature, thermosetting composite materials containing the thermosetting resin according to the present invention enables the recycling of carbon fibers through hydrolysis, thus providing a potential for business expansion in recycling of carbon fibers and recyclable resins. In addition, the thermosetting resin of the present invention can be applied in the fields in which not only carbon composite materials, but also ordinary thermosetting resins are used. In addition, since the thermosetting resin of the present invention can be hydrolyzed in basic solutions, the cost associated with burial and disposal can be dramatically reduced.
