The present invention relates to a composition for treating chronic inflammatory bowel diseases or strengthening bowel function, and more particularly, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating chronic inflammatory bowel diseases comprising coprisin peptide CopA3 as an active component; a food composition for preventing or treating chronic inflammatory bowel diseases comprising coprisin peptide CopA3 as an active component; and a food composition for strengthening bowel function. The composition of the present invention assists in epithelial cell regeneration by promoting proliferation and death of intestinal epithelial cells, and enhances bowel wall function by strengthening the cell junction among intestinal epithelial cells. Therefore, the composition of the present invention can be useful to develop medicines for the prevention or treatment of various chronic inflammatory bowel diseases caused by increased intestinal mucosal permeability, functional foods, and foods for strengthening bowel function.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
