Provided are a device for increasing coke oven gas (COG) in quantity to improve purification quality of COG and increase an output of COG, and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the device comprises: a carbonizing chamber in which coal is carbonized in a coke oven; a riser tube which is installed on the upper part of the carbonizing chamber and in which crude COG generated by coal carbonization comes out; and a gas blow pipe installed on the upper part of the riser tube, causing a reaction with crude COG and blowing reactive gas for decreasing the temperature of crude COG.
