Combinations of tolerogenic peptides and TFG-B for use in induction and maintenance of oral tolerance in young mammals

The present invention relates to the administration of a combination of one or more peptides comprising a particular sequence of TGF- [beta] and [beta] -lactoglobulin. The peptide is hypoallergenic, but retains the ability to induce tolerance to natural proteins. The combination of TGF- [beta] and one or more of these peptides has a therapeutic effect, inducing and maintaining oral tolerance to the newly introduced protein, especially at the time of the induction. The combination can modulate the immune response of the infant and the infant to allergen.
