The present invention relates to a footswitch control method for improving work safety and operation error discrimination efficiency of a crimping machine. More specifically, a monitoring unit serves as an intermediate bridge between a footswitch and the crimping machine to prevent the footswitch from operating in a situation where an error occurs or a program is set by a user in the monitoring unit. The present invention comprises: a monitoring step of converting, aligning, and comparing a crimping signal of the crimping machine in the monitoring unit; an informing step of informing a user that an operation error and a failure are determined by the monitoring unit; a machine stopping step of stopping the crimping machine when the operation error and the failure are determined by the monitoring unit; and a machine operation step of operating the crimping machine by the footswitch after removal of the operation error and the failure in the crimping machine.
