The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes, and controlling a side effect from peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR- γ) activation, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises (a) an amodiaquine compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (b) an antidiabetic drug as active ingredients. Specifically, the composition prevents or treats simultaneously one or more selected from the group consisting of type 2 diabetes reactive to PPAR-γ activation, and obesity, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, and fatty cirrhosis reactive to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α) activation.
