The present invention relates to a blocking filter operation device for a surveillance camera, installed in a front surface of a camera lens inside a casing of a surveillance camera with a restricted size to effectively move a visible or infrared-ray blocking filter to a position placed in the front surface of the camera lens and a second position not interfering with the camera lens. According to the present invention, a device including a surveillance camera and a casing receiving the camera therein to operate the visible or infrared-ray blocking filter applied to the surveillance camera to photograph a surveillance image comprises: a motor installed in an upper part of the casing of the camera; a cam unit vertically coupled to a rotary shaft of the motor to be rotated by the motor; a filter unit including an arm member wherein one end part is coupled to a side surface of the casing to be able to rotate, a main body coupled to the other end part side of the arm member, and the visible or infrared-ray blocking filter coupled to the main body; and a transfer unit wherein one end part is coupled to the cam unit and the other end part is coupled to the arm member. According to the present invention, as the transfer unit is moved by rotation of the cam unit, the blocking filter of the filter unit is moved to the first position placed in the front of the camera lens and the second position where the blocking filter of the filter unit is placed on the upper surface of the camera casing to avoid interference with the lens.
