A customized furniture design method using a head-mounted display device includes the steps of: enabling the head-mounted display device to output a furniture object on a display screen; enabling the head-mounted display device to receive information displaying a posture or a gesture of a user wearing the head-mounted display device from a gesture recognition device; enabling the head-mounted display device to receive a command to select a specific part constituting the furniture object; and enabling the head-mounted display device to change any one of a length, a height, a width, and a depth of the specific part in one direction based on a body part of the user using the furniture object and to output the changed result on the screen. Accordingly, the user can design customized furniture realistically and easily by using the head-mounted display device.
