Disclosed is an apparatus for testing a ferrule cross section for an optical communication module. The apparatus for testing comprises: an XY moving stage unit; a mount head unit which moves in two axial directions of X and Y axes by the XY moving stage unit and rotates on an XY plane and has first and second cameras installed on the side surface thereof; a jig disposed at a lower portion of the mount head unit and fixing a plurality of optical communication modules having ferrules therein; and a control unit for selecting a ferrule area existing at an examination start position among a plurality of ferrule areas extracted from the entire image of the jig taken by the first camera, and analyzing a ferrule cross section image taken by the second camera moved to the examination start position to determine whether or not the ferrule cross section is defective.
