An objective of the present invention is to provide a boric compound useful in manufacturing a polycyclic aromatic compound and a method using the same to manufacture the polycyclic aromatic compound, capable of easily acquiring a polycyclic aromatic compound as an organic electro luminescence (EL) material at high purity and high yield. To this end, the method reacts acid with a compound represented by formula (1) to manufacture an aromatic compound.
