The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating the damage of eyes comprising a powder or extract mixture of Rhynchosia volubilis seed coat and Beta vulgaris as an effective component. The powder or extract mixture of Rhynchosia volubilis seed coat and Beta vulgaris not only inhibits increased production of active oxygen in retinal cells and cell death due to ultraviolet irradiation but also effectively reduces cataract development, and thereby can be useful for health functional food or medicines for preventing or treating oxidative damage of the cornea and the retina.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
